Medical Electronics
Course Description
This course consists of lectures and labs on biomedical engineering, an important interdisciplinary field, including biomedical instrumentation, biosignal analysis, electrical stimulation of the tissues, or medical imaging. The students learn about transport phenomena through cellular membranes, ECG-EEG-EMG signals acquisition and digital processing of these signals, rehabilitation engineering, including orthopedic and sensory prosthetics, electrotherapy, laboratory devices used in clinical explorations and the main principles of medical imaging. This last one, but one of the most important fields in biomedical engineering, covers both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, including X-ray, PET, MRI and ultrasound.Lecture Notes
